What is IP helper address?

Atul Sir,
I don’t understand the exact concept of IP helper address, can you please help on that to understand?

IP helper address command is used when your DHCP server is another Network.

The “ip helper-address” command is used in networking to configure a router or switch to forward DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) requests to a DHCP server located on a different network. This command helps devices on one network to obtain IP addresses and other configuration information from a DHCP server on another network.

ip helper address is defining the ip address of the DHCP server, from where a client connected to switch will request dynamic address
