What are the role of topology, routing, and neighbour tables in OSPF?

  1. Neighbor Table maintains the details of directly connected OSPF neighbour routers
  2. Topology Table maintains the database of all possible routes to reach the destination within OSPF domain. And SPF algorithm takes input from topology table to calculate the best path to reach the destination.
  3. The best possible route calculated is stored in routing table.
