Host connected device lookup

We want to get the Host/IP address details in which device it is connected.

Example: Host Name: (my laptop hostname)

I Just want to know in which particular network device is it connected. (Router, Switch)

We have tried to run traceroute but can’t be able to find the details.

Please help.

Check the PC gateway and login that device first.

It could be L3 Switch or a Router if you are talking about corporate Network.

Than check on which port its connected -

If its switch check - Show mac address table.

if its router - Check CDP Table.
