This command Configures OSPF to advertise the default route (0.0.0.0/0) to its neighbors, regardless if it is present in the routing table or not.

“default-information originate” will advertise a default route into the OSPF domain only if there is already a default route in the routing table. see the following example.
Since RT5 does not have the default route then it wont inject into the OSPF domain.
Now, default-information originate always will advertise a default route into the OSPF domain regardless of whether a default route exist in the router’s table or not.

therefore we need to make sure where we apply it to opbtain the desired results.

In simple language… default-information originate command is used to “pass/forward” default route( 0.0.0.0/0) to another device or its neighbors
